Colors of Naked Truth

I stand right here. In your presence. I stand before you with arms wide and heart open and dressed in my layers and robes, sewn of the colors of naked truth and feelings unrequited.

I stand here as a ghost, an ephemeral shimmer, the vague outline of something that briefly catches the periphery of your sight, but no form.

I know the glint in your gaze, a wanderlust for someone, a spell cast or conjured, the blood-pumping promise of that gold strike, if only…

There is where the irony lives. You wear your own layers and robes. You exist, only for a moment, in someone’s periphery. You are standing open and in the presence of someone…else.

We are all shimmers in the eyes of another.
